A postdoctoral opportunity with FAPESP's Scholarship is available, until 22 July, in the center of science and technology of materials of Energy and nuclear research (Ipen). The activities will be carried out in the Department of metallurgical and materials Engineering from the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (Poli-USP).

The position is linked to the thematic project "study of localized corrosion and corrosion resistance characterization associated with fatigue in the region in welding of high strength aluminum alloy friction stir welded (FSW)" (available in Portuguese only).

The work is conducted by a multidisciplinary group that includes researchers from Ipen, the USP in São Paulo and São Carlos, Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) in London and at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) in Diadema, whose lines of research are focused on corrosion of aluminum alloys, specifically in the aeronautical industry.

The selected candidate will conduct theoretical research and/or thumb on the theme "use of local impedance spectroscopy (laws) to study the corrosion of aluminum alloys with high mechanical strength, welded by FSW. Will also play other regular activities, such as the presentation of seminars, the preparation of papers, dissemination of research results and the production of articles to be submitted in high-impact journals.

It is recommended that you have a PhD in Corrosion of aluminum alloys, strong track record of publication and good performance in spoken and written English.

The requested documentation includes CV Lattes or Curriculum Vitae, if a foreigner; MyCitation (Google Scholar); and research project with introduction, objectives, methodology, method of analysis of results, conclusions and the bibliography (maximum of 20 pages).

Applications should be sent to egp01@ipen.br, with the subject line indicating "Purse-Theme-corrosion-PD laws". Questions can be directed to the Coordinator of the project, Dr. Isolde Costa (icosta@ipen.br).

Stock selection will be made in two stages: in the first, the curriculum will be assessed, the publications, the profile and the path of the candidate, as well as the scientific quality of the proposal and its adherence to the research project; the second will consist of an interview in person or by videoconference.

The opportunity is published in full in fapesp.br/oportunidades/1189 (available in Porguese only).

The selected will receive post doctoral position of FAPESP in R$ monthly 6,819.30 value and technical reserve. The technical reserve of post doctoral Fellowship is equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the bag and is intended to meet the unforeseen costs and directly related to the research activity.

If the fellow resides in different home and need to move to the city where the headquarters of the research institution, you may be entitled to an Installation allowance.

More information about the post doctoral position of FAPESP is available at fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.

Other waves of postdoctoral fellowships in various areas of knowledge, are on the site FAPESP-Opportunities (available in Portuguese only).
